There had been a number of accidents blamed on the lack of strength in the center section and possible flutter of the ailerons. I had previously decided to use control rods for the aileron alleviating the need for constant monitoring of the control cable tension. Just as I was going to take the completed fuselage to the airport, Zenith came out with an upgrade for the center section and the addition of aileron balance weights to the control horns. I disassembled the center section area to carry out the upgrade.
